Zuckerberg Throws Shade at Apple’s Headset, Claims Meta’s is Better
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook), is not holding back when it comes to promoting his company’s work in the metaverse. In a recent statement, he took a swipe at a major rival – Apple – and their highly anticipated mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro.
Zuckerberg apparently didn’t hold back his surprise after trying out the Vision Pro, stating that it fell short in most aspects compared to Meta’s own affordable headset. His remarks directly challenge the excitement surrounding Apple’s device, which has been touted as a potential game-changer in the VR/AR market.
Zuckerberg highlighted not only the price difference (Meta’s headset being much cheaper) but also the overall quality of the product. He even went as far as to claim that the Vision Pro can cause “simulator sickness,” a condition that can make VR users feel nauseous and dizzy.
It’s debatable whether Zuckerberg’s statements are completely unbiased. Meta and Apple are locked in a fierce competition to dominate the metaverse, a budding field with the potential to change how we interact with technology. It’s only natural for both companies to aggressively promote their own products.
However, Zuckerberg’s remarks do bring up interesting questions. How will Apple’s highly anticipated headset perform in real-world scenarios? Does Meta have a secret weapon in the VR space? Only time will provide answers, but one thing is clear: the competition in the metaverse is intensifying.
