This trend might continue with the upcoming Vivo X200 series, as leaks suggest it could be the first to be powered by the yet-to-be-announced MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC.
The Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, launched earlier this year, were the first smartphones to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. Following this pattern, it wouldn’t be surprising if Vivo continues its partnership with MediaTek for the X200 series.
Details about the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 are still scarce, but rumors suggest it might use TSMC’s 3nm N3E node and retain a similar core structure to its predecessor, the Dimensity 9300, with a Cortex-X5 performance core clocked at 3.4 GHz. An early Geekbench listing hints at a potential score of 2,776 for single-core performance and 11,739 for multi-core, indicating a significant performance boost over the Dimensity 9300.
While official confirmation is still awaited, the rumors surrounding the Vivo X200 series and the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC have certainly generated excitement. If true, this could mark a significant step forward for both Vivo and MediaTek in the flagship smartphone market.
